Endo-what?

Endometriosis affects around 176 million women across the world - which breaks down to 1 in 10 women during their reproductive years*.

Despite how common this disease is, there is currently no cure. On top of this, it takes years for women to be diagnosed.

This is not okay and needs to change.

Where This Blog Comes Into Play

Endometriosis affects every woman differently, which is often why it can be so challenging to diagnose when women become symptomatic. By understanding how differently endometriosis can alter a woman's health, we hope to spread awareness and break the stigma that endometriosis is just a "really bad painful period" by sharing real life stories from women with endometriosis and how it impacts their daily lives.

 Our Mission: Spread Endometriosis Awareness

Our goal at Understanding Endo is simple: We want to help you learn more about endometriosis.

We want to help women of all ages understand this common disease because so many women have it. It usually takes years to receive the proper diagnosis due to its varying symptoms from woman to woman and there are currently no tests that can discover it accurately.

This blog is meant to be a comforting place for women of all ages with endometriosis, or those who suspect they may have endometriosis. It is a place meant for sharing, learning and healing with endometriosis.

For that reason, we will never showcase ads from pharmaceutical companies - ever.
